Be The Match
An organization that matches bone marrow donors to patients with blood cancers like leukemia. It's simple to get on the registry: sign up, swab the inside of your cheek with the kit they send you, and if you match someone, you donate bone marrow to save their life. If you are having a baby, you can also donate umbilical cord blood to them to save a life. Be sure to check the medical guidelines first, however.

March of Dimes
An organization that advocates for political changes that help infants and pregnant women to survive and thrive. These days they are specifically targeting premature birth and economic, location-based or racial inequity in treatment. Their website also has tips on how to care for babies and pregnant women. They also help to fund research to support their goals. Historically, this was the organization that sunk enough effort into research to develop the polio vaccine.
